[lifelinelink: GRAMPAB, Grampa] and [lifelinelink: GRAMMAB, Gramma's] last wedding anniversary together. It was held in Kelowna in a small restaurant that they went to often.

This was the last time that our my mother's side of the family was together in the same room.

Aside from the usual family frictions, it was a nice time.

She loved to sing, could play any song on the piano without music and loved to square dance. Mom was a great cook and always ordered things from the Shopping Channel on TV. She had gadgets for everything. Mom, the Bingo Queen, could play her own 24 cards, watch Dad's to make sure he was marking the numbers and talk while she played! She was an avid crib player and she and Dad played every night for the last 9 years of her life. She was very creative with pegging when she was close to loosing a game. Above all, Mom always loved us, sometimes not liking the things we did, but always stood up when she was needed. Mom loved to "be the boss" and especially liked to "bait" Dad into an argument until he realized what she was doing. When she was learning how to drive, she almost ran over an RCMP officer and was always hitting the garbage cans in the alley. Needless to say, Dad was Mom's chauffeur! Everyone that knew Mom loved her sense of humour and her smile. We all miss her!

Copyright © 2008
This feed is for personal, non-commercial use only.
The use of this feed on other websites breaches copyright.
